Boqueria market joins the 'Q Comerç de Qualitat' Campaign
Boqueria market is the first in the city to join the Q Comerç de Qualitat (QCQ) campaign organised by Eix Comercial del Raval. The first QCQ plaques were distributed to 20 market stalls on Monday 18 June.
20 market stalls now have the Q Comerç de Qualitat plaque which guarantees quality in service and compliance with current legislation. Through this initiative, the Boqueria is the first market in Barcelona to join the campaign. The first plaques were handed over on 18 June in the presence of Salvador Capdevila, Chairman of the Boqueria Traders Association and Lluís Llanas and Alfons Barti, Executive Vice-Chairman and Director of Fundació Barcelona Comerç, respectively.
The first stalls to receive the QCQ plaque come from different food categories present in the Market, and are Olives Francesc, Olives i Conserves el Pinyol, Soley-Roser, Soley Boqueria-La cuina internacional, Frutas A. López, Cansaladeria Josep Boqueria, Bacallaneria Pujamar, Aviram Maria José & Nerea, Avinova Boqueria, Soler Capella Carnissers, Especialitats Eva Lugo, Xarcuteria Galiot, Mas Food Lovers, Amelie, Marisc Noemí, Fruits secs i torrons 648 and the bars Kiosk Universal, Quiosc Modern, el Quim de la Boqueria and Ramblero.
The aim is to increase the number stalls with the plaque and the stall owners can apply for it by completing the corresponding checking process which grants them the right to receive the certification.
Q Comerç de Qualitat
The campaign Q Comerç de Qualitat was set up by Eix Comercial del Raval in June 2018 to identify and distinguish quality in the district. The QCQ certification was adopted from Fundació Barcelona Comerç, of which Eix Comercial del Raval is a member.
The traders considered suitable to receive the certification are given a numbered plaque and a certificate that expires in two years. The certificate is awarded by an independent evaluation committee that guarantees transparency throughout the process.
Being awarded the plaque, which is free for traders associated with Eix Comercial del Raval, offers buyers trust and confidence and also brings added value to traders as they receive information and advice about current trade and consumer regulations and can use the Client Ombudsman Service of Fundació Barcelona Comerç.
