Following the result of the elections held last 2nd November in the presence of a Notary Public, Boqueria Market Traders Association now has a new board. It is formed by 15 members and chaired by Salvador Capdevila, who was its president during the last term, and with Jordi Mas and Eduard Soley as vice-presidents. The turnout for the elections was quite high -85 per cent of all those with voting rights-, and there were two candidates, Salvador Capdevila and Ramon Carner.

Ramon Carner was pleased with the result and congratulated the winning candidate, Salvador Capdevila, who insisted on the need to continue to rise to the future challenges facing the market.

The winning candidate presented a conservative programme, with emphasis on aspects that have worked well until now, such as sound financial management, harmony between tradition and innovation and working to create a brand of value in the city of Barcelona. However, new objectives were also included such as improvements in infrastructure with a view to modernising the market and the commercial mix, and preserving a balance with respect to customer types, as customers are essential to allow la Boqueria to continue to be one of the greatest markets in the world.
