Participation of Boqueria Market in a conference on markets and trade in Galicia

Last 22 May Boqueria Market took part in a conference on Markets and Trade in Galicia, held in Santiago de Compostela. The conference, which was of a technical nature and dedicated to traders and technicians from markets throughout Galicia, dealt with the different types of market regulation, new private models and gastronomic areas.

The conference was organised between 14 and 27 May within the framework of the campaign “Quere ao teu mercado” (Love your market) in 3,000 markets from 18 countries and included a visit to the Abastos Square in Santiago and show cooking with different products from Galicia.

Boqueria Traders Association, represented by its managing director Òscar Ubide, took part in a round table entitled “Urban markets, new trends” along with representatives from the Lonja del Barranco Market in Seville and Ribera Market in Bilbao, along with Dreaming Markets. The managing director of Boqueria Market spoke about assimilating and managing tourism and how it can influence the supply of fresh products.
