Anem a sopar, La Boqueria Convida (Let’s have supper. La Boqueria Will Foot the Bill)

‘Anem a sopar, la Boqueria convida’ is the Christmas motto used by Boqueria Market since 2016. It consists of a draw among the market’s customers with the possibility of winning 20 suppers for two. As in previous editions, the poster was designed by students in their second year at the Massana School of Art. Based on a partnership agreement between both entities, signed in 2016 and renewed every year, students from the school are able to take part in this activity, which is organised by La Boqueria Traders Association, depending on their course of study.

Each purchase worth €10 gives the right to one ticket, and for purchases worth €30, customers are given a bag
The operating mode is the same as in previous editions: the market’s customers must go to the Information Point to exchange their purchase receipts for tickets, with one ticket being issued for each purchase worth €10. The tickets are handed out between 2 December 2019 and 4 January 2020. The draw for 20 suppers for two, each for a value of 100 euros per person, will be held from 7 January, in the presence of a Notary Public and the winner can choose from among the following restaurants: Ca l'Isidre, Hidden Boqueria and Direkte Boqueria. Customers with prize-winning tickets have 30 days to claim their prize at the market’s Information Point and the period for attending the supper at the chosen restaurant ends on 29 February 2020.

In addition, as in previous editions, the Christmas campaign is completed by the distribution of 5,000 fabric bags among all customers making purchases for more than €30. The bags are decorated with the campaign image, which, this year, and based on the decision of the jury, was awarded to the proposal made by the student Ciara Quilty-Harper. In addition, out of the twenty proposals submitted, the jury nominated as the finalists the proposals of the students Cristina Luna and Cyntyia Kwinkelenberg.

The result was announced at an event held on the 27th November at the Massana School, with gastronomic contributions made by the market bars Quiosc Modern, Ramblero, Quim de la Boqueria and Clemen’s, and the market stalls Olives Francesc and Menuts Rosa, in addition to Estrella Damm.

Extended opening hours of the Information Point
As in past years, the Christmas campaign also includes the presence of a large Christmas tree at the Rambla entrance, and Christmas lights on the rear façade of the market, in Plaça de la Gardunya, at the Rambla entrance and at the intersection of the porches with the streets giving access to the market, as the result of the partnership with the Tot Raval Foundation. Furthermore, in order to provide better service, as is usual during the Christmas campaign, from Monday to Saturday, the Information Point opening hours have been extended from 8 am to 8 pm.
