A delegation from the Korean organisation SEMAS (Small Enterprise and Market Service) paid a visit to the market last Wednesday. SEMAS is a governmental organisation created for the purpose of supporting and promoting small enterprises, traditional markets and shopping districts.

The delegation was formed by 10 people, including the managing director and assistant director of the Korean Ministry for Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups, Jungill Kim and Wang Lee, respectively, and a group of traders. During the meeting, they expressed their interest in different topics, and in particular, access to the market by young traders and the existence of aid policies after access, and the average age of the traders and staff of Boqueria market.

Other aspects that were of interest to them were measures to support traditional markets, the preparation of specialised design elements, the products displayed on the stalls and how they are sold and attracting foreign tourists to the market.
